This is a B/W photograph was taken at Zip's, a 50's diner in Connecticut. I got on my knees, initially to photograph the row of stools. A few images later I included the man at the counter, quietly eating lunch. He seemed like a "regular"; he was alone in his thoughts and did not acknowledge my photo-taking antics! It was on exhibit at The Art League, 105 N. Union St., Alexandria, VA until January 3, 2016. This image is one of two images that will be published in March 2017 in The Northern Virginia Review, Vol. 31.
Have you taken time lately to notice the world around you more carefully? Photographs can help you do that. They capture the moments we want to remember. They show us images of people, places, and things we may not have ever seen before. My journey in photography has allowed me to capture scenes both near and far—beaches, rusty trucks, runners in the sand, and my favorite, flowers of all kinds. This journey has expanded my world. I hope the images I have created will expand yours! All work in this gallery is the original work of Georgette Grossman. It is for sale, © Georgette Grossman.

Love how the reflected light makes the man seem even more isolated! Congrats!

Thanks, Karen. I wish I knew this man so I could send him a copy!
